Crunchy Tossed Salad

Another week has passed and the Carnival of Recipes is almost here. I am sharing my recipe with you before I send it to Beth.

    Crunchy Tossed Salad
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar (I use cider vinegar)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 large head iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted
  • 3/4 cup chow mein noodles

    • 1. In a jar with tight-fitting lid, combine oil, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper; shake well. Chill for 1 hour.
      2. To toast almonds: heat in a skillet and stir often until toasty in color. Repeat with sesame seeds.
      3. Just before serving, combine the lettuce, bacon, almonds, and sesame seeds in a large bowl; add dressing and toss.
      4. Top with chow mein noodles
