Fresh as a Daisy

I think there’s so much sleet and ice that the trees are starting to crack, literally, under the pressure. Twice now I’ve heard loud cracks of noise out in the darkness. It wasn’t until the second time that I realized it is probably tree branches breaking under the weight of the constant falling sleet.

Update:  It’s not a guess anymore.  A large tree branch came down just across the street right after the cracking sounds.  I expect a lot of trees will be missing branches come morning.
