On Saturday we made Lisa’s Chicken Nachos from Carnival of the Recipes #16 . We used Cheddar instead of Monterey Jack so we wouldn’t have to go shopping. They were fantastic, even with different cheese. We didn’t have a single chip left when we were done. Thanks, Lisa!

I got this delicious recipe from a former neighbor, Carol Furst. It’s more of a cheesy dip than a creamy dip, but it is still wonderful.

Brown Steak & Gravy

This recipe was given to me by my lovely mother-in-law.

Brown Steak & Gravy

2 lb. round steak
meat tenderizer
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. parsley flakes
2 Tbsp. shortening
4 cups water, hot
1 tsp. kitchen bouquet
